We organized our first Private Equity Dinner for our PE clients on 3 October.
We welcomed many operations and investment partners and directors from leading private equity firms in the Benelux. These included Parcom, Egeria, Torqx, GIMV, and Mentha.
In addition, six valued Sweav members joined us for dinner. They brought experience in PMI, buy-and-build, exit readiness, and pricing.
A special thanks goes to Bradford Tribble, CEO at Cordstrap and a valued client of ours. During an inspiring keynote, he shared his thoughts and learnings on value creation at mid-market portfolio companies.
We hosted the event at Hoogtij Amsterdam. The venue offered stunning views of the city and great food. Because of the informal and relaxed setting, young emerging leaders in private equity and strategy professionals could strengthen their relationships. They also shared knowledge and discussed market trends.
Launching the first PE community in the Netherlands
This dinner was the first step in building a community for our private equity clients. With this community, Sweav focuses on PE partners and directors from medium-sized and large private equity firms in the Benelux.
The aim is to bring them together, not only for dealmaking but also to exchange knowledge and experiences in value creation. In addition, the community will offer valuable insights for operating partners. These partners focus on optimizing companies and successfully rolling out deals.
“Over the past two years, we have built a thriving community of top strategy and M&A freelancers in the Netherlands. Today, it consists of more than 275 professionals, and this number is growing rapidly. Through our app, we connect these freelancers with ambitious corporates, private equity firms, and mid-market companies,” says Joeri Schouten, co-founder and CEO of Sweav.
“Because we work closely with many private equity firms, we saw the need for a space where top players in Dutch PE can meet in an informal setting. As a result, they can connect without being overwhelmed by traditional advisors or lawyers. That is why launching this private equity community felt like a natural next step for Sweav as a connector. Our ultimate goal is to build dynamic and exclusive communities of high-profile clients, PE firms, and freelancers. Then, we link them together through Sweav. We are more than just a dull, transactional platform.”
One attendee at Sweav’s PE dinner, Gijs van Reen, Operating Managing Director at Parcom, confirmed this: “There are not many places where private equity directors and partners can meet in a casual atmosphere and learn from each other. I am glad Sweav has now filled this gap.”
We look forward to strengthening this community in the coming years.
Strategy and M&A director dinner
Earlier this year we also organized a strategy and M&A director dinner for our corporate clients.
After almost 3 years down the road with Sweav, we’ve established a strong community of freelance strategy and M&A professionals. We’re excited to continue to build these client communities for corporate and PE.
